LSU Victory Parade | Geaux Tigers!
Hubby and I normally avoid crowds, but we absolutely could NOT miss the LSU celebration on campus today. We arrived two hours early, so got a good spot behind the barricades. Before the parade started, two or three black jets flew low, right over our heads, and it was the loudest roar I've ever heard. It went down into my bones. Hard to describe. Let's just say I wondered if Christ was coming back before I saw the jets! Lemme tell you, everyone was energized even more, if that was possible.
This is definitely a situation where I could've used a 70-200mm lens. The 24-105 was not long enough, but the 100-400 was too long. Plus, a young girl in front of me was wearing a big black hat with a wide brim that kept appearing in the corners of my images. Ugh. When Coach Orgeron's float rolled by, I was able to get one good shot without any obstructions. I needed to back up more to get these key players in the frame, but was hemmed in. Hubby helped me choose this shot for today since I wasn’t happy with any of them. I will start a new album tomorrow to add the rest of the day's festivities.
