28/366 | Grooming White Ibis

Rain is coming overnight, so I went to LSU Lakes to take advantage of the light. I was excited to photograph a Pod of White Pelicans that flew overhead. Got some interesting formations, but none were sharp enough as they were a little out of reach. I was even able to get a solitary pelican with an airplane in front of it which made them both look about the same size--really cool, but not good enough to post. Another shot I hoped would be unique was a group of Canada Geese crossing the street ala The Beatles White Album cover. Couldn't quite get it to my liking. Going to LSU Lakes used to provide many egret/heron close-ups catching fish. With all the fish they've dumped into the Lakes to eat the algae I thought I might get lucky. Alas, they have not been successful the last few times I've been there, and I don't have all day to sit and wait. Oh well! Many more days ahead for this project, Lord willing. A little over 11 months to go! Woo hoo. Here we have an American White Ibis grooming at the water's edge.
