In 2017 we inadvertently hosted a pair of Easter Bluebirds. Since then we've wholeheartedly embraced these birds, making our backyard into a Bluebird sanctuary. The population has exploded. Some days we can count well over a dozen birds. We have four Bluebird boxes and three mealworm feeding stations at this time. Today, this young male posed for me on a shepherd's hook. I have a feeling the Eastern Bluebird will make many appearances in this project, especially during breeding and nesting season.
