After my bible class this morning, I wanted to see if I could perform a trifecta with the hummingbird since the botanical garden is so close to the church. She did appear briefly, but not long enough to get any shots. Since I was in dress clothes and the sun was bearing down, I decided to settle for the Long-tailed skipper. This is one of the prettier skippers with its turquoise body, splashes of gold, and white spots on the wings. All the pollinators seem to love the porterweed, so I'm putting that on my wish list for next spring.
