Yesterday I was bone-tired from the prior day's work. I didn't even get my steps in. But I did sit down at the dining room table to begin Lesson 2 of the Precept Revelation bible study. It's quite involved. The lesson required some of the following:

  • look up the Greek definition for certain words;
  • illustrate the verses from Chapter 1 (I can't draw, so I used symbols over certain words);
  • look up metaphors and similes and see where those instances appear in the text;
  • go back to Daniel chapter 7 to glean more insight from verses 9-14;
  • write down the actions occurring in those verses

I still have more to do, but so far, it's going great. Doing these exercises helps to paint a picture. This study is like putting together a giant jigsaw puzzle. Daniel was a tough study, and it was hard to keep it straight, but Revelation so far has been a little easier. Maybe because Daniel lays much of the foundation.

"Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near." (Rev 1:3)
