53/366 | Spanish Town Parade

February 22, 2020  •  Leave a Comment

We hit our third parade for 2020 and I am DONE! Whew doggies. Spanish Town is the big risqué one for Baton Rouge and each year they try to top the previous year. The costumes, the throws, the spirit; it was absolutely electrifying. We were happy to go and celebrate their 40th year. Hubby and I each had about 5 lbs of beads around our necks, plus a shopping bag full of beads and other assorted items such as cups, men's underwear (!), footballs, lightning sticks, hair bows, stuffed animals, frisbees, flowers, leis, and even a Jell-O shot! I was also interviewed on video camera by someone--not sure who he was with, but he had an "Elect Garret Graves" button on his hat that was stacked to the sky with blue beer bottles. The guy below reminded me of Kurt Cobain. I also liked the dancing girls surrounding him; they weren't as skanky as some of the others. But I will be posting an album of the whole thing later in the week. Just might have to put a NSFW label on it. :/
