This is the second day in a row I tried to photograph the Wood Ducks. There are two pairs, and if you're stealthy enough, it's possible to get fairly close. My only issue is the eye focus. For some reason my Canon 5D III does not get sharp focus on the eye. Shutter speed was fast, IS works, and f-stop was at its sweet-spot. I don't know--I've always have had problems with the Wood Ducks. I can get sharp focus on the blue-eyed Ibis just fine, but these red-eyed ducks are giving me fits. Light was terrible this morning and they were moving a lot, so that probably explains some of it. Tomorrow I may return and shoot the female. She is not as colorful, but has a beautiful yellow eye ring. And if I don't get her, I hope to see the Osprey again. Sorry about all the algae; LSU is working on this issue.
