Today I started a prayer garden in a corner of the backyard. I splurged on this climbing vine in hopes it will trail over the fence. It's not as beautiful as the bleeding hearts I saw in Portland, but it's probably in the same family and still pretty. So far, I have a comfortable chair, a container with zucchini and squash, a pot with dill weed, and an old wash tub with cilantro and rosemary, and a cart with various potted flowers. The area is tucked away in a far corner, and as I sat in the chair to relax after all the planting, listening to the wind rustling through the leaves, it felt so peaceful.
