171/366 | Katydid

The Cajun Prairie Meadow at Hilltop Arboretum is looking quite miserable with no rain of late, and none forecast for the near future. I photographed many dead, dying and drooping flowers which seemed to mirror how I was feeling. Although not technically summer, it's been oppressively hot for several weeks now. Ugh. I don't mind sweating and tan easily, but the humidity wears me down.

Day two scouring the wildflower field for insects. This Katydid hopped onto a Rudbeckia (coneflower family) and seemed to hug it while putting its hand (?) up to its mouth.
