Every summer I look forward to the pale pink Siam Tulips. This year they were late; the magenta ones opened 2 weeks ago and there are at least 2-dozen in full bloom right now. But I don't enjoy them as much as the light pinks. Siam Tulips are only named for their resemblance to tulips; they're actually in the ginger family. These are some of my favorite flowers in the garden. In winter they go completely dormant, but when the ground warms, they emerge from their slumber, providing colorful, showy flowers all summer.
