Cheyenne Spirit is a variety of Coneflower. I had some missing places in my flower bed after uprooting dead/dying plants, so thought I'd give these a try. The Coneflower is an Echinacea in the Daisy family. Echinacea is derived from the Greek ekhinos meaning sea urchin due to the spiny central disk. Next to the Coneflower I planted a Firebush with lime green leaves and slender, long red blooms resembling fireworks. I also planted a huge clump of Sedge grass in front to fill some space, and transplanted a peppermint plant that had become root bound in a pot.
I usually don't plant this late in summer, but with root stimulator and the nice rain we are receiving right now (and expected all week), I might get lucky and these will produce until fall.
