Whew doggies, it is HOT. It's getting pretty intense lately. As I sat in my prayer chair, it felt like an inferno. Needless to say, I didn't last long. I did manage 7500 steps starting around 9:30AM and ending at 10:30AM.
From my chair I noticed this Northern Cardinal with a black beak--a new observation for me. I learned adults have reddish-orange beaks, so this is a juvenile. Whether it's male or female is unclear to me. He/she is pretty in an understated way. I love the birds that visit our yard and seeing the different stages of growth. There's always something to learn from nature and I'm an avid student.
