This morning I woke early to some heavy showers. It was peaceful sitting in the living room listening to the downpour. During a break in the rain, I set out seeds and nuts for my bird friends to see who would visit. This is actually a squirrel feeder that a cob of corn is screwed onto, so I improvised a bit. Several young Cardinals enjoyed an afternoon snack. The juvenile males appear as though they've been tie-dyed. I love the red, orange and tan mottling. These are year-round birds for us, so not too exciting, but it is fun to watch them in different stages of maturity.
