On July 28, my first day in Mississippi, daddy and I took an afternoon drive down Hwy. 48. A few miles down the road we happened upon an exotic deer farm. These are axis deer, also known as spotted deer or chital from Southern Asia. I first isolated the buck by himself, then he started to grow worried about the fawn and trotted over to protect him. The light was not good that day, so I thought we'd have another try at the end of my stay, but it wasn't to be. Ah well, this will have to do! More pics to process, which may take a day or two.
