As summer winds down, the Mississippi Kites will be leaving us soon. I have probably taken 2000+ shots of this bird of prey, all with dismal results. I've employed every setting, used innumerable apertures and shutter speeds, different metering modes, etc. Impossible, at least with the equipment I have. This might be the best I'll get and it's too hot to be outside for long, so I'm going to pull the trigger on this one. Two of them were circling above our house this morning. It's possible one of them got to one of our precious Bluebirds yesterday.
