Finally, finally I convinced the husband to purchase a new refrigerator. The Samsung side-by-side we purchased 8 years ago has been nothing but a costly headache from the start. Three ice makers were replaced and it leaked every day. The last six months we've been buying bagged ice. Water with no ice in Louisiana? I don't think so.
Remember when appliances used to last for a generation? Yeah, those days are no more.
Saturday we went to a local appliance store since I had already struck out at Home Depot. Got a GREAT deal on this beauty and no-interest financing for one year. The middle drawer can be used as a freezer, wine cooler and other options. The large space for water and ice dispensing will come in handy for large vessels like my tea kettle. Also, it is counter-depth, even though it doesn't appear so here. Just the way I photographed it.
Today the fridge arrived as promised. Once I saw it in the kitchen I actually became excited. I bid adios to the 8-year reign of terror from the Samsung with more glee than I thought possible. I was surprised to only find one dead insect, dog fur and four pieces of bacon on the floor once it was removed. The guy patiently waited while I vacuumed and sanitized the area. Shop leauxcal, y'all! It was a great experience.
