Round two dealing with a dead mouse. And of course it's a long weekend due to the Labor Day holiday. Sigh. I put the hood up on my car to try to air it out. Kept going online searching for solutions. Finally, I got the flashlight since it was dark, determined to find the thing. What a rancid smell! The flashlight enabled me to see what looked like a small tail hanging from the driver side fender well. The husband thought I was crazy; I was ready to rip the whole car apart. I prayed out loud, "Lord, Jesus help me!" With gloves on and a tool we tried to remove the cover. That didn't work, so I took a screwdriver and wedged it in the bottom of the plastic piece to pull it away from the car, and out dropped the mouse! You could hear my scream two parishes away. We're now on phase two of airing out the car. I certainly hope that's the last of this. Thank you, Jesus.
Speaking of phases, as I did my walk this morning I noticed this newspaper on our neighbor's driveway. Our governor has extended all the restriction deadlines so far and people are getting irritated as we seem stuck on Phase 2. Even last night at dinner, a couple next to us were complaining about the restrictions. There's a recall petition going around, too for our trial lawyer governor, John Bel Edwards. Anyway, since printed newspapers might be obsolete one day soon, I thought this would make a good photo for the day.
