We finally wrapped up studying the book of Daniel today! The "puzzle" is still out of focus and pieces are scattered about, but hopefully our next study of Revelation will help bring more clarity. I know what to look for in the Antichrist, that's for sure. He will be extremely boastful and speak monstrous things about God. He will insert himself into the temple and proclaim that he is God and demand to be worshipped. Chapter 11, verse 37 says he will disregard the God of his fathers, will magnify himself above all, and will not desire women. I thought that last clue was rather interesting.
After bible study, I drove to LSU Rural Life Museum since it was close to the church. I had my brand, spankin' new 17-40mm lens with me and was dying to give it a whirl. Thankfully, the sky cooperated. Scattered outside the museum are several rusting farm implements from the 18th and 19th centuries. This cog sits at the entrance to the parking area. The road off to the right takes you to walking trails, a pond, and a bee-keeping area. Inside the museum are relics such as tools, cameras, coffins, hearses, carriages, clothing, musical instruments, etc. Outside the museum are slave quarters, cabins, outhouses, a church, jail, and post office, to name some. Glimpses of how our ancestors lived so long ago is fascinating. At least to me.
