270/366 | The Swamp

We had such a nice paddle today! Saw lots of alligators; babies, juveniles and adults. We heard one that was so loud it almost sounded like a motorboat. I have never heard an alligator bellow that loudly before. Scary. I was able to get shots of several gators, two juvenile Roseate Spoonbills, and the Belted Kingfisher, but other than that it was pretty quiet at Lake Martin. I think most everyone was watching the LSU game, so we chose a great time to kayak. The lake was calm and serene, just the way I like it. The Spanish moss hanging from these cypress trees brings back cherished childhood memories.
